Messi: ‘I used to go to a psychologist when I was at Barca’

“I did [go to a psychologist] for a while when I was at Barcelona, a long time ago,” Leo Messi has revealed.

“I was very reluctant at first. I’m someone who keeps everything bottled up. But the truth is, when I went there, it did me a lot of good, I really liked it and it helped me,” the Argentine added.

This is quite a surprising confession. In 2020, Leo said that his wife, Antonella, was begging him to see a psychologist in his difficult times, but he had refused it back then.

Anyway, it’s great that Messi publicly opens up on the issue, admitting that even people like him sometimes require professional help. His words could make feel other men better about the idea of visiting a psychologist.
