Real Madrid have big plans for Arda Guler next season
Before the arrival of young striker Endrick this summer, Real Madrid already owned one of the biggest talents in world football, Arda Guler in 2023. He did not have many opportunities to show his ability in his first season, but the talent who just shone with the Turkish team at Euro 2024 is expected to have many opportunities in the new season.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti wants Arda Guler to be more involved in the 2024-25 season.
Arda Guler was signed in the same summer as Jude Bellingham, while Brahim Diaz also returned from loan at AC Milan. Despite having limited playing time compared to the other two, Guler has been even more effective. Guler has only played 373 minutes in La Liga for Real Madrid in 2023-24, but has scored six times and is always a threat to opposition defences.
The 19-year-old is widely regarded as the next superstar of world football, and he has proved it with a stellar Euro 2024 campaign that has left the world in awe – Guler scored a stunning goal and provided two assists. Now, according to a report from Diario AS, manager Carlo Ancelotti wants the young Turkish star to be more involved in the 2024-25 campaign. Ancelotti plans to try Guler in a variety of positions to see which suits him best – including allowing him to play on the right wing, as a No. 10, in central midfield and potentially even as a centre-forward.
With superstar strikers Kylian Mbappe and Endrick joining the La Liga and Champions League champions’ attack, which already includes Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz, it seems Guler will need to be patient and adapt to those experiments – especially as a replacement for Bellingham if the England star needs a rest.
