Sergi Roberto gives farewell speech: ‘Who would’ve told me I’d play 373 games for the club of my life’
Sergi Roberto leaves Barcelona after 18 years at the club. Blaugrana organised a farewell ceremony for the midfielder on Tuesday.
The former Catalans captain said: “Who would have told me that I would play 373 games with the club of my life and would be the first captain, taking over from Messi, Busi, Xavi and company.
“To the fans, I would have liked to say goodbye on the pitch but I will be eternally grateful for your support these years, where we have lived unforgettable moments. Your demands have made me the player I am today. I will always carry you in my heart.
“I’m proud to leave, I’ve given everything for 18 years and Barça is and will be the club of my life. This time is coming to an end but I’m sure our paths will cross again.”
