Throwback to Lamine Yamal winning an award that no one has ever won before as part of the Golden Boy ceremony

Lamine Yamal had an impressive season, but his performance at the Euro surpassed everything and everyone. However, it is worth remembering his club achievements in the first part of the season in a ‘Barca’ shirt. It was these that led him to a specific award that you are unlikely to have ever heard of.

A few of them:

📌 He became Barca’s youngest ever player after featuring against ‘Real Betis’ (but in in April 2023), aged 15 years, 9 months and 16 days;

📌 Four months later, at the age of 16 years and 83 days, he became the youngest player to start an UCL match.

📌 He also broke Gareth Bale’s record for the youngest scorer in a European Championship qualifier, becoming Spain’s youngest ever goalscorer.

Last year Yamal was presented with the ‘The Youngest’ trophy at the annual Golden Boy awards ceremony. The award is in recognition of his position as the youngest player ever to appear on the Golden Boy podium.

Jude Bellingham, who is 4 years older than Lamin Yamal, was awarded the main Golden Boy prize.
