Vitor Roque's father holds 'showdown meeting' with Deco, agreement reached

While Vitor Roque recovers from a fever, his father and Barca’s sporting director Deco held a showdown meeting to discuss the player’s future, reports Gerard Romero’s Jijantes FC.

According to Diario Sport, the agreement reached was that Roque would not be sold permanently. Instead, the player will be sent on loan to a European club, not Saudi.

Roque was on course to go to a Portuguese club but the details of the deal changed suddenly; now Lazio are viewed as the favourites to get him.

Barca are yet to register Roque in La Liga despite his low salary, but sending the Brazilian on loan shows they still have some faith in the possibility that he could eventually come good.

Roque only managed two Barca goals during his first six-month stint at Barca as Xavi offered him limited playing minutes.
