‘We are dead’: fan slams Barca management because of Nico Williams failure, claims they ‘never learn from mistakes’

After signing Dani Olmo, Barcelona clearly had high hopes of signing Nico Williams as well. However, now that he was given number 10 at Bilbao, it looks like we won’t be able to sign him this summer.

One of Barca fans on Reddit is furious because of Barcelona not having a few backup options in case of a failure to sign Nico.

“I don’t understand how Barcelona management thinks? They always create hype around players or coaches, but always fails to settle any deal. Now we have a great team, great coach, but still the management failed to provide a complete team.

“They created hype around Nico but never thought about any backup option, Now if the Coman deal doesn’t convert, we are dead. We had 5/6 world class midfielders but still we bought Olmo. I agree Olmo is a great player but we already have the attacking midfield position perfectly ticked off (Gundo, Pedri, Gavi, De Jong, Fermin).

“We didn’t have a single left wing, the top priority was LW position when we started on the transfer window, but still we are unsure about that. We needed two LW players, one main player and one backup (low payroll), as we have only one LW option which is Fati who is injured.”

This actually looks like a legitimate claim – Barca failed to sign Nico, but didn’t think through what they are going to do in this situation.
