What’s Happened to Elliot Stabler’s Five Kids on Law & Order: SVU and OC?

Everything to know about Maureen, Kathleen, Dickie, Elizabeth, and Eli Stabler over the last 25 years.

When he’s not tracking down New York City’s most dangerous and perverted criminals, Law & Order: Organized Crime‘s Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) is often dealing with issues at home.

He and his (now-deceased) wife Kathy Stabler (Isabel Gillies) were introduced as parents of four when Law & Order: Special Victims Unit premiered in 1999. The two had been high school sweethearts and became parents early in their lives.

Their youngest child joined the family during a pivotal period in SVU after Stabler and Kathy had separated. The birth of that child led them to work on their marriage and get back together, though death did eventually part them.

Upon Stabler’s return to New York City, we’ve seen even more of the Stabler kids, though it can be hard keeping track of all five.

Who is Elliot Stabler’s daughter Maureen on SVU and Organized Crime?

Maureen Stabler, who has been played by both Erin Broderick and Autumn Mirassou, is the Stablers’ eldest child.

Kathy got pregnant with Maureen when she and Elliot were just 17 years old and the two got married before Maureen was born.

Maureen was an adolescent when SVU started, and her father’s issues with her growing up featured in Season 1, Episode 5 (“Wanderlust”) and Season 1, Episode 6 (“Sophomore”).

In Season 3, Maureen talked about wanting to attend Columbia University but, in Season 4, Episode 23 (“Grief”), her father forgot to send in the check with her application. She ultimately attended Hudson University instead.

While in college, Maureen continued living at home, and chose to live with her mother during her parents’ Season 7 separation.

By Season 8, Episode 10 (“Annihilated”), Maureen had moved out.

Viewers met Maureen as an adult following the tragic murder of Kathy in SVU Season 22, Episode 9 (“The Return of the Prodigal Son”).

She attended Kathy’s funeral in OC‘s series premiere (“What Happens in Puglia”) and, in Season 1, Episode 3 (“Say Hello To My Little Friends”), fans learned Maureen was living with a man named Carl (Adam Harper).

In OC Season 1, Episode 4 (“The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of”), Maureen and her siblings staged an intervention for their father after he was left reeling from Kathy’s death.

In Season 2, Episode 9 (“The Christmas Episode”) of OC, fans learned that Maureen and Carl were the parents of two kids.

During the Stabler family reunion in Season 4, Episode 4 (“The Last Supper”), after Elliot and his brother Randall (Dean Norris) got into a physical altercation, Maureen rallied her siblings to leave the party and pronounced herself disappointed in her father.

Her most recent appearance was in the OC Season 4 finale.

In total, she has appeared in 18 episodes across 8 seasons of SVU and Organized Crime.

Who is Elliot Stabler’s daughter Kathleen on SVU and Organized Crime?

Kathleen Stabler, who has been played by Allison Siko and Holiday Segal, is the Stablers’ second child and the most troubled of the family daughters.

In Season 5, Episode 5 (“Serendipity”) of SVU, viewers learned that Kathleen had been born a month premature after Kathy saw an upsetting news story about Stabler and went into labor.

In Season 6, Episode 21 (“Blood”), Kathleen was arrested for drunk driving. At first, her father made the charges go away, but she was eventually forced to serve community service after the cover-up was uncovered in Season 9, Episode 1 (“Alternate”), and her dad took away her license.

Throughout the years, Kathleen had a couple of shady boyfriends and experimented with drugs. In Season 10, Episode 3 (“Swing”), she burglarized a home as part of a manic episode and later overdosed, leading her father and Detective Fin Tutuola (Ice T) to take her to the hospital. During this visit, a doctor informed the family that Kathleen likely suffered from bipolar disorder.

Kathleen didn’t want treatment, leading Stabler to return the stolen items to their owner and let his daughter go to jail for the theft, since she would be forcibly medicated there. While she was in jail, her grandmother Bernadette “Bernie” Stabler (Ellen Burstyn) revealed that she too struggled with bipolar symptoms, inspiring Kathleen to accept treatment and take a plea deal.

After receiving treatment for her bipolar disorder, Kathleen was much more stable, even helping to Benson convince an abuse victim to leave and name her assailant in SVU Season 10, Episode 20 (“Crush”).

In SVU Season 12, Episode 9 (“Gray”), Kathleen acted as a “sober buddy” to her friend Bethany, who was assaulted while Kathleen was supposed to be keeping an eye on her. Wracked by guilt, Kathleen illegally stole files that proved Bethany’s attacker was the culprit in a separate rape and murder case, and Stabler had to cover her tracks so she wouldn’t get kicked out of college.

Kathleen reappeared as an adult in SVU Season 22 and subsequently in OC after her mother was killed, and she leaned on Benson for support during that time. When her youngest brother, Eli, moved in with their father, she encouraged him to move in with her instead for his own safety. Meanwhile, Kathleen pled with her father to get help in dealing with the trauma of losing Kathy and the stress of the OCCB, and she was the one who recruited Benson to attend the intervention for her father.

After Mama Bernie’s health took a turn in OC Season 2, Episode 2 (“New World Order”), Kathleen convinced her grandmother to move in with her father by promising to take care of her cats.

She most recently appeared in the infamous Stabler family dinner party of Season 4, where, like her siblings, she was intensely uncomfortable with the familial drama.

To date, the character has appeared in 18 episodes across 4 seasons of SVU and Organized Crime.

Who is Elliot Stabler’s twin son, Richard “Dickie” Stabler, on SVU and Organized Crime?

Dickie Stabler is one of two twins that Elliot Stabler and his wife, Kathy, had together before SVU premiered. He’s been played by actor Jeffrey Scaperrotta as both a child and an adult on 25 episodes across 12 seasons of SVU and Organized Crime.

Viewers learned that Stabler and his wife already had twins Dickie and Elizabeth in Season 1, Episode 2 (“A Single Life”). In Season 1, Episode 7 (“Uncivilized”), Stabler visited Dickie’s first-grade class to educate them on the dangers of child predators.

In SVU Season 10, Episode 4 (“Lunacy”), Stabler introduced Dickie to his hero and namesake, astronaut Dick Finley (James Brolin). Sadly, Finley turned out to be a murderer, leading Stabler to arrest him (but not before punching him for having the audacity to shake his son’s hand).

In SVU Season 11, Episode 8 (“Turmoil”) — when Dickie was a teen — his best friend was murdered and Dickie beat up the culprit until Stabler and Benson stopped him. In honor of his deceased friend’s wish enlist in the military, Dickie told his father he wanted to join up but Stabler wouldn’t allow it, as he was a minor at the time.

An adult Dickie was present at the intervention for his father in Law & Order: OC Season 1, and attended the disastrous family dinner in Season 4.

Who is Elliot Stabler’s twin daughter, Elizabeth Stabler, on SVU and Organized Crime?

Elizabeth Stabler, who is Dickie’s twin, has been portrayed by both Patricia Cook and Kaitlyn Davidson.

In Season 2, Episode 5 (“Countdown”) of SVU, viewers learned that 8-year-old Elizabeth was interested in theatre and piano.

In Season 10, Episode 2 (“Confession”), when Elizabeth was a teenager, her father found her picture in the possession of a pedophile and beat the perp so severely that he was suspended from service.

Like the other Stabler siblings, Elizabeth was devastated by her mother’s murder in Season 22 of SVU and attended the funeral and Stabler’s subsequent intervention in Law & Order: OC Season 1. She was present for both the family dinner in Law & Order: OC‘s Season 2 holiday episode and Season 4’s doomed family dinner.

The character has appeared in 20 episodes across 7 seasons of SVU and Organized Crime.

Eli Stabler (Nicky Torchia), Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), Kathleen Stabler (Allison Siko), and Elizabeth Stabler (Kaitlyn Davidson) appear in Season 1 Episode 6 of Law & Order: Organized Crime.

Who is Elliot Stabler’s youngest son, Elliot “Eli” Stabler, Jr., on SVU and Organized Crime?

Elliot “Eli” Stabler, Jr. is the Stabler’s youngest son and has been portrayed by Nicky Torchia in 23 episodes across 5 seasons of SVU and Organized Crime.

After Elliot and his wife separated, they spent one night together in Season 8, Episode 10 (“Annihilated”) of SVU and conceived Eli. The pregnancy prompted the couple to rekindle their relationship.

Kathy got into a car accident with Benson in Season 9, Episode 7 (“Blinded”), leading her to give birth to Eli in an ambulance. He was a colicky baby and was only four when Elliot Stabler resigned from the SVU and moved to Italy with his family. During his sojourn abroad, Eli became a soccer fan and joined his secondary school’s team.

When the Stablers returned to New York, Eli was the only one young enough to still live with his parents and took his mother’s death the hardest. He initially remained with his father but eventually moved in with his sister Maureen.

Eli then began to get into trouble, once stealing his grandmother’s bipolar medication in OC Season 2, Episode 5 (“The Good, The Bad And The Lovely”), triggering a meltdown.

Upset by the Season 2, Episode 9 (“The Christmas Episode”) trial of Kathy’s murderer, Richard Wheatley (Dylan McDermott), Eli took off and got high with a new friend. The next morning, he woke to find his friend dead and instantly feared he was involved in the fatality. Feeling wretched, Eli found himself staring off the edge of George Washington Bridge. After being convinced not to jump by a cop, Stabler and Benson helped him realize his innocence, and they determined the victim was murdered by Wheatley’s hitman.

Eli was in attendance at the Season 4 dinner party, where he introduced his family to his new girlfriend, Becky (Kiaya Scott) before the fight started.

In the Season 4 finale (“Stabler’s Lament”), Eli visited his family with big news: He’d decided to drop out of college to become a cop, just like his father. Stabler was floored and encouraged his son to reconsider, but Eli begged his father to support him.

Meanwhile, there was another exciting development in Eli’s life: Becky was pregnant. Stabler wasn’t in attendance for the announcement, but after spotting the same ginger tea he used to prepare Kathy when she was pregnant, Stabler swiftly cracked the case and was happy for his son.
